PRICES

Important!  If you have registered your business with the State of Connecticut or will do so prior to the convention, you will receive a discount on your table fees.  The initial price of the permit is a little steep, but, as long as you file your taxes annually with the State (even if you have earned nothing, the online filing webpage is super-quick to go through), it is a one-time fee and the permit is automatically renewed every five years for free and also allows you to sell anywhere in the state, such as at other conventions and craft fairs.

SELLING AT TINY PAWS CON

Option 1:  Register as a business in Connecticut

  • Visit http://www.concord-sots.ct.gov/CONCORD/index.jsp and use the Business Startup Tool.

  • $100 one-time fee paid to the State.

  • Provide the Dealer Director with a digital or scanned copy of your permit by the first day of the convention.

  • This option also means a discount on your table fees as long as your sales permit remains valid (i.e. you file your taxes, or lack thereof, with the State every year--takes just a few minutes)!

Option 2:  Use the Dealer Cashier to handle all cash and credit/debit transactions

  • At the time of payout to the dealer at the end of the convention, the Dealer Cashier will deduct 3% from all sales (i.e. 3 cents per $1 sold, 30 cents per $10, $3 per $100, etc.)

Option 3:  Register your business with the State but have the Dealer Cashier handle all credit/debit card transactions.

  • Dealer handles cash transactions and sends credit/debit card sales to the Dealer Cashier.

  • At the time of payout to the dealer at the end of the convention, the Dealer Cashier will deduct 3% from all credit/debit card sales (i.e. 3 cents per $1 sold, 30 cents per $10, $3 per $100, etc.)

  • Provide the Dealer Director with a digital or scanned copy of your permit by the first day of the convention.

SELLING ADULT MATERIAL

All adult materials need to be kept covered and in special notebooks marked “For Adults Only” or something similar.  Please also use stickers or Post-Its to cover genitalia and female nipples.  Any dealer allowing minors to view or purchase their adult artwork will be given a first warning.  Any subsequent charges will result in the dealer being asked to pack up their wares and leave The Expo permanently.

Artwork or written work depicting minors (under 18 years of age) or characters depicted as minors in sexual situations are strictly prohibited.

Items which have a strictly sexual use or purpose are not allowed for sale in The Expo.  If you have questions about this, please contact the Dealer Director.

DEALERS WITH CHILDREN (MINORS)

Children must be supervised at all times and not allowed to run amuck throughout The Expo and convention space.  The Expo is not a daycare playroom.  Parents will be responsible for any damages their children cause to other dealers and their merchandise.

Dealers do not need to have their child’s Parental Consent form notarized since they, as the parents/guardians, will be physically present at the convention.

WAITING LIST

In the event we fill The Expo, we will open a pre-con Waiting List on the website.  If notified of a table opening, prospective dealers MUST pay for their space in the time allotted by the Dealer Director.  All Waiting Lists (pre-con and at the con) are first-come, first-serve.  If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Dealer Director.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS/CREDITS

Full refunds (or credit for next year's convention) on dealer space will be given if the request is received on or before July 15th.  Half refunds (or half credits) will be issued on requests received on or before July 21st.  No refunds or credits will be given after July 21st.
