HOTEL AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

Hotel Status:  CLOSED

If the room block is listed as open and available for reservations, but you are getting error messages regarding your reservation, please contact us with your real name, phone number the hotel can reach you at, the room size(s) you need, and your desired dates of arrival and departure.  We will pass your information along to the hotel so they can contact you regarding your reservation.  Sometimes the issue is merely that the available rooms in our room block for a particular night have all be taken.  If there are still rooms available in the hotel of that type on that day, the room block can usually be expanded.  However, especially as it gets close to our event, we cannot guarantee availability.

Hotel Information

Crowne Plaza Danbury
18 Old Ridgebury Road
Danbury, CT 06810

General website:  www.cpdanbury.com (do NOT use to book your reservation for our event)
Direct phone number:  203-794-0600 (use to ask questions to the front desk; a separate phone number will be used for reservations)

To book a room with a King bed, only list 2 people in the room.

If you have any troubles booking your room, contact us immediately with your name, room size (king or 2 doubles), and the dates you are trying to book for.  It is possible our room block is sold out for a particular day and needs to be expanded.  We apologize for any delay.

NOTE:  It may be possible to get a slightly lower room rate on other travel websites.  However, as part of a convention's contract we are required to fill a certain number of sleeping rooms and, if you reserve your rooms on these other sites, your room will not be counted towards the convention's room block requirement.  We understand you want to save a few dollars, but we also appreciate your support by booking your room through the link or phone number we provide.

For all reservations
There is no hold at the time of booking. At check in, however, the card is swiped and authorized for the room + tax ($123 + 15% = $141.45) per day for the length of your stay, plus an additional $50 for incidentals. The $50 will clear about a week or two after check out. We HIGHLY recommend using a credit card for all travel expenses like this so your personal bank account isn’t inaccessible during the weekend due to this large hold being placed on it if you use a debit card.

How To Get Here

Travel By Car

Check with your local furs through Twitter and other online furry communities for carpooling opportunities!  Be good riders and pay your share for gas and tolls!

The hotel is located just off I-84 on the Connecticut side of the central Connecticut/New York State border.

The exit on I-84 West for the hotel is Exit 2A.  (Our GPS tried to take us from CT into NY and then U-turn to come back into CT, but ignore those directions if you get them!)  Follow the curve of the exit and merge onto Old Ridgebury Road.  After crossing over the highway, the Crowne Plaza will be on your immediate left.  The driveway coming down into the hotel is narrow, steep, and curvy.  Drive slowly!

The exit on I-84 East (coming from NY State) is Exit 2.  In short order, turn LEFT onto Milestone, RIGHT onto Mill Plain Road, RIGHT onto Old Ridgebury.  After crossing over the highway, the Crowne Plaza will be on your immediate left.  The driveway coming down into the hotel is narrow, steep, and curvy.  Drive slowly!

Travel By Train

From NYC
You have two different Metro North lines to choose from.  Both stations are roughly a 15-minute cab ride from the hotel.

SCHEDULES:  http://web.mta.info/mnr/html/planning/schedules/

Trains are generally every hour, with a slightly longer gap around noon.  Trains inbound to NY in the morning peak are 2-3 per hour, outbound from NY are same in evening peak.  Weekends have fewer trains and are all Off Peak tickets.

Harlem Line - Brewster, NY station
http://m.mta.info/mt/as0.mta.info/mnr/stations/station_detail.cfm?key=162

There is a Brewster-Danbury commuter shuttle to the Exit 2 Park & Ride.  It is a roughly 15-minute walk from the Park & Ride, but it is NOT recommended as a walk due to a lack of sidewalks.  It’s a roughly 3 minute taxi ride.  Or have a friend pick you up!

New Haven line - Danbury branch - Danbury, CT Station
http://as0.mta.info/mnr/stations/station_detail.cfm?key=280
If you wish to take the bus from the train station take line 2 to the Pulse point and transfer to line 3 to go to the Exit 2 Park & Ride.  It is a roughly 15-minute walk from the Park & Ride, but it is NOT recommended as a walk due to a lack of sidewalks.  It’s a roughly 3-minute taxi ride.  Or have a friend pick you up!

AMTRAK & ACELA - East Coast corridor

From the North and/or East
The closest station stop for regular Amtrak and Acela service is New Haven or Stamford.  If you choose New Haven, take the Metro North line to South Norwalk.  Change at South Norwalk to get on the Danbury branch.  If you chose Stamford, see the South directions below.

See Metro North Schedules:  http://web.mta.info/mnr/html/planning/schedules/

Then follow directions to get to hotel from the Danbury station for Metro-North

From the South and/or West
The closest station stop for regular Amtrak and Acela service is Stamford.  Get on the Metro North - New Haven line, preferably the Danbury branch of that line.  If you take the Danbury Branch, you will not need to transfer.  If you take the general New Haven line, get off at South Norwalk and transfer to the Danbury line.

See Metro North Schedules:  http://web.mta.info/mnr/html/planning/schedules/

Then follow directions to get to hotel from the Danbury station.

Upstate NY
Get off at either Poughkeepsie or Croton on Hudson (may also be identified as Croton Harmon on some route maps).  Croton on Hudson you may take the connecting Metro North Harlem line to Brewster and follow those directions.  Otherwise it is 45 minutes to 1 hour to the hotel by car.  Select your station based on which way car driving friends are coming!

Travel By Plane

The Crowne Plaza Danbury is closest to Bradley International Airport (BDL), but rental cars or other options can bring you to the area from Tweed/New Haven (HVN), Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston, Albany International Airport (ALB), and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and JFK International Airport (JFK) in New York City.

If your flight is going to connect through Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), look at the costs for flying into that airport instead and either rent a car to drive the rest of the way or take public transportation to Danbury.

Air taxi service is available from most of the already listed airports to Danbury. There is also generally ground-based taxi or shuttle service from same to Danbury limo service in area around airport.  It will generally be an additional 10-15 minute taxi ride from Danbury airport to the hotel.

If you have a pilot’s license...you can land here!  Small planes only.  Details: https://www.airnav.com/airport/KDXR  It’s about 10-15 minute taxi ride to hotel.
